Major General Donald P. Dunbar is Wisconsin’s Adjutant General. He commands the Wisconsin National Guard and is responsible for Emergency Management. He also serves as Wisconsin’s Homeland Security Advisor, chairs the Homeland Security Council, and serves as the senior state official for cyber matters. Gen Dunbar serves as the Chairman for the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisors Council (GHSAC) and serves on the executive committee of the Adjutants General Association of the United States (AGAUS).
Gen. Dunbar holds a B.B.A. from the College of Insurance in New York; an M.B.A. from City University in Washington; and a J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School. He is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officer School and the National War College, and he holds a M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University. He completed the Capstone joint service professional military education course in 2008.
